Ferry between Sliema and Valletta by Manoel Island

Valletta, Malta

The passenger ferry operates between Sliema and Valletta across the Marsamxett Harbour channel. Straight ahead lies the Valletta waterfront and fortifications, with the dome of the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the spire of St Paul's Pro-Cathedral standing above the limestone perimeter walls. To the right is Manoel Island, site of the 18th-century Fort Manoel and the old naval lazaretto complex. The surrounding water sees regular traffic from local passenger catamarans, work boats, and private yachts anchored along the coastlines. This 360-degree panorama was taken directly from the open upper passenger deck during the boat transit.
