Casablanca, Morocco
The Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco, is one of the most remarkable structures in the world, completed in 1993 under the commission of King Hassan II. Designed by French architect Michel Pinseau, it is the largest mosque in Africa and the third-largest in the world. The exterior features a massive square minaret decorated with stone carvings and an expansive courtyard completely paved with polished stone slabs. The adjacent covered arcades are supported by thick pillars with lower sections finished in complex green and blue geometric zellij tilework. This vast outdoor space is documented in a virtual tour consisting of 9 high-resolution 360-degree panoramas. The panoramic virtual walk allows viewers to examine the scale of the main entrance gates and the patterned ceilings of the walkways extending across the plaza.
