Tianjin, China
The Tianjin Eye in China stands 120 meters tall directly over the Hai River. It is the only giant Ferris wheel in the world built on top of a functioning bridge. The Yongle Bridge supports the massive wheel while continuing to act as a crucial transport link between the Hebei and Hongqiao districts. The project was launched in 2007 as a key element of the broader Hai River redevelopment plan. The wheel itself has a diameter of 110 meters and is equipped with 48 enclosed passenger capsules. Every single cabin accommodates eight people for a comfortable 30-minute ride to complete one full 360-degree rotation. Reaching the top gives riders an unobstructed vantage point matching the height of a 35-story building. The cityscape and the wheel are documented here in a high-resolution panorama photographed right after sunset.
